Welcome to our pond! As you can see, last year’s drought did us in! Water levels are super low. But we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a rainy Spring!
How do Ponds Fit into a Permaculture Plan?
Ponds serve SO many functions in a permaculture design! They store water for later use. They house fish and other life (like our Missouri mussels!). They provide water for all of the critters and serve as a hangout for water fowl.
Our Pond Design Plan:
Our pond is a 2.3 acre beauty that is shaped somewhat like a Rooster. It’s partly on our land and we share it with another family.
